Complete Reading Guide to Deleuze’s Cinema Books, new sidebar menu
Ok, I just added a new sidebar for all the mini-essays for Deleuze’s Cinema Books. Now there’s a full reading guide to this very difficult monster set of books. From what I can tell, this mini-guide is much clearer and accessible than the secondary sources I’ve read. These posts also present some approaches to these books that I don’t think I’ve seen elsewhere, including the anti-link to Hegel’s Logic, the linking of noosigns to the cinema of categories and Deleuzian critique of Lacan, and the connection between lecto-signs and disjunctive-synthesis/double-articulation, Hjelmslev, and his sections on political cinema and language.
Anyway, these posts will form the basis of material for the projected work The Networked Image, but in the meantime, wanted to collect these thoughts to be a resource to my students and anyone else who wants to understand these books between now and when I finally can edit these reflections into a full book. Now easy to access from the side-menu!
